Fuel Filler Cap Warning Indicator: Service and Repair

Fuel Tank Lock Switch -F314-

Fuel Tank Lock Switch -F314- consists of a reed contact on fuel filler tube and a connector flange cap with an embedded magnet. With a connector
flange cap that is not fully screwed on, the reed contact switches and triggers an indication on the display in instrument cluster.

Check the following items in order with a lighted display:

-

Proper connector flange cap (recognized by:) with magnet (arrow)

Connector flange cap is fully screwed on

-

Switch -1- is fully inserted at fuel filler tube

Check electrical fault in switch. See Electrical test for Fuel Tank Lock Switch -F314-

Faulty wiring connection to instrument cluster (check according to wiring diagram)

Electrical test for Fuel Tank Lock Switch -F314-

Rear right wheelhousing liner, removing

-

Disconnect electrical harness connector -2-.
