Check label on DVD in drive unit located in trunk on left side:

-

If DVD has a green label, it needs to be updated

-

If DVD is Version 2 or 3 -arrow- with a black label, it needs to be updated

-

If DVD is Version 4 -arrow- with a dark gray label, navigation software update is not required

-

Make note of DVD Version

Proceed to Section B

Section B - Preparation

NOTE:  

If a problem is encountered during MMI or Navigation software updating, the Audi Dealer Technician Helpline is available for assistance

Remove all CDs from glove box CD changer and Navigation DVD from unit in the trunk

-

Connect battery charger (PSC-300 or equivalent) to the vehicle

Check and record Adaptation ("Channel 1") value as follows:

-

Connect the VAS 5051/5052 and select "Vehicle Self-Diagnosis" mode

-

Select Address word "07 - Display -/ control unit"

-

On the control unit screen, select forward arrow (>) in the bottom right corner of the screen

-

Select function "10 - Adaptation"

-

Input "1" on keypad to select "Channel 1"

-

Press the "Q" button to confirm

-

Record the "Channel 1" value
