Raising wheel bearing housing to tighten bolts (control position)

Special tools and equipment

V.A.G 1331 Torque wrench

^

V.A.G 1332 Torque wrench

V.A.G 1383 A Engine/gearbox lifter

^

V.A.G 1783 Torque wrench

T10149 Mounting

^

V.A.G 1783/1 Spanner attachment (10 mm A/F)

Square timber (hardwood) 30x50x1000 mm

Bonded rubber bushings can only be turned to a limited extent.
Therefore axle components with bonded rubber bushings must be put in a position that corresponds to the position in driving mode (control position)
before tightening.
Otherwise the rubber bushing will be placed under stress and its service life will be reduced.
This position can be simulated on the lifting platform raising the wheel bearing housing with engine/transmission jack V.A.G 1383 A and mounting
T10149.

Operations to be performed before setting the control position

Remove wheel housing liner.

^

Clean the air connection area.
