Acceleration Sensor: Service and Repair

Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required
‹› Torque wrench (5-50 Nm) (VAG 1331)
Removing
‹› The rear body acceleration sensor (G343) is installed on the right side behind the wheel housing trim near the air spring damper.

Place the vehicle on a hoist. Refer to => [ Positioning Vehicle on the Hoist and on its Wheels ] See: Steering and Suspension/Suspension/Service
and Repair/Procedures/Positioning Vehicle on the Hoist and on its Wheels.

Remove the wheel covers, remove the cover cap on light alloy wheels (removal hook in vehicle tool kit).

Remove the wheel.

Secure the brake disc with a wheel bolt.

Remove the right rear wheel housing liner.

Disconnect the electrical connector - 1 -.

Remove the nut - arrow - and the rear body acceleration sensor - 2 -.
Installing
Installation is performed in the reverse order of removal. Observe the following when doing so:

Tighten the nut - arrow - for the rear body acceleration sensor - 2 - to 9 Nm.
