Wheel Bearing: Procedures
Wheel Bearing Unit, Removing and Installing

Wheel bearing unit, removing and installing
Special tools and equipment

^

V.A.G 1332 Torque wrench

Removing

^

Place vehicle on lifting platform.

^

Remove drive shaft.

^

Remove brake caliper and attach to body with wire.

^

Remove brake disc.

^

Unscrew bolts -arrows- for wheel bearing unit. 

^

Remove wheel bearing unit from wheel bearing housing.

Installing

Installation is carried out in the reverse order to removal, noting the following:
During assembly, make sure that no indentations on the boot of the air spring damper.

The tightening torques of nuts/bolts and information on whether the nuts/bolts must be replaced can be found => (layout of front axle
components).

Install and tighten wheel.
