CV Joint, Checking for Function

CV joint is properly assembled, if ball hub can be slid back and forth by hand over whole compensation length.

Press grease into joint body.

Drive axle with 88 mm diameter outer CV joint, grease quantities and types. Refer to => [ Grease Quantity and Type ] See: Service and

Outer CV Joint, Removing

Secure the drive axle with protective covers in a vise.

-

Open both clamps and remove the CV joint boot from the outer CV joint.

-

Strike a copper or brass drift - A - on the CV joint inner race with a hammer.

Remove the CV joint and boot.

Outer CV Joint, Installing

-

Slide the CV joint boot onto the axle shaft.

The CV joint and boots must be free of grease.

Circlip (snap ring), must be replaced.
