Remote Control: Service and Repair
Integrated Audio Switches In Steering Wheel, Remove/Install

Removing

-

Disconnect battery Ground (GND) strap.

-

Turn front wheels and steering wheel to straight ahead position.

WARNING!
Observe all airbag safety precautions before starting work on any part of the airbag system

From rear of steering wheel on left and right sides, use Torx (R) bit T30 to remove screws mounting airbag unit.
Tightening torque: 7 Nm

Carefully remove airbag unit from steering wheel.

-

Disconnect harness connectors from airbag unit and disconnect 6-pin harness connector on right-side audio switch.

Remove both Torx (R) screws (T1O) (arrows) from right -1- and left-hand -2- audio switches.

-

Remove wiring from guides -3- and unclip audio switches from airbag unit.

Installing

CAUTION!
When installing, make sure wiring is routed into guides -3- and is not twisted or pinched.

-

Install in reverse order of removal.
