Glove Compartment Lock: Service and Repair

Lock Cylinder And Push Button For Glove Box, Removing And Installing

Special tools and equipment

-

Precision mechanic screwdriver; 1.6 x 40 mm

Removing

-

Remove glove box and place in floor outlet.

-

Turn vehicle key approx. 45 degrees - a -.

-

Insert precision screwdriver into hole (arrow).

-

Lock screwdriver into guide tab (arrow).

-

Press guide tab upward.

-

Lock cylinder is unlocked (if necessary, correct key position slightly).

-

Pull out lock cylinder with vehicle key inserted.

NOTE:  Shown in illustration with lock removed.

-

Loosen screw (arrow) through hole for lock cylinder until retaining bracket slides back.

-

Remove push button from front.
