Headliner Without Slide/tilt Sunroof, Removing From Roof

Special tools and equipment

CAUTION:
-

Molded headliner cannot be removed from roof in one piece or roof will be deformed.

-

Therefore, molded headliner must be cut into strips approx. 100 mm wide.

-

Cut perforation in center of roof horizontal to vehicle.

-

Cut area of headliner that is glued on into approx. 100 mm wide strips.

-

Individually pull off pre-cut strips from perforation in center outward in sequence 1, 2, 3 etc. while supporting roof with the other hand.

Remove protective bracket from roof Fig. 1.

-

Remove headliner from clips - 2 - by pulling toward front.

NOTE:
-

If paint surface on roof interior is damaged with the carpet knife, the area must be primed.

-

The residual paper on roof after headliner is removed can be easily removed by warming with a heat gun. Small bits of paper need not be
removed.

-

Temperature at roof must not exceed 100 degrees C or else paint can be damaged.
