Removing And Installing Transmission Control Module (TCM) -J217-

TCM location: in E-box in right side of plenum

Removing

-

Switch ignition off.

-

Open E-box in right side of plenum by unscrewing 7 bolts (arrows).

-

Unclip bolt cover to unscrew bolt in upper right-hand section of illustration.

-

Release multi-pin connector lock -2-, then disconnect multi-pin connector from TCM.

-

Unscrew bolts (arrows) and remove TCM (together with bracket) from E-box.

-

Check container for water penetration and reseal if necessary.

Installing

-

Install in reverse order of removal.

-

Check DTC memory of TCM.
