Rear Side Airbag, Removing And Installing

Removing

CAUTION!
Note safety specifications when working on airbag.

-

For vehicles with coded radio unit, radio/navigation system (RNS) note coding; ask if necessary.

-

Disconnect battery ground stra and cover negative pole.

-

Remove rear seat bench.

-

Remove rear seatback.

-

Using screwdriver, pry out cushion hook -1- at area -A- of side airbag in direction of arrow.

-

Turn over lock bracket -3- and disconnect connector -2- from side airbag -1-.

-

Pull seatback cover -5- at side airbag area to side until nuts are in view.

-

Unscrew three nuts -4-

NOTE:  Ground cable is fastened to one of the nuts.

Press side airbag approx. 10 mm to cushion and remove from the top.

Installing

Installation is done in reverse sequence, noting the following:
