Connecting link, 1999 mid-year production change

Connecting link with ball joints: up to m.y. 1999

Connecting link with bonded rubber bushings: from m.y. 1999

Connecting link 

(1) Connecting link
(2) Track control link
(3) Self-locking hex nut 40 Nm (30 ft. lbs.) plus additional 90 ° turn.
(4) Clip
(5) Self-locking hex nut, 90 Nm (66 ft. lbs.) 
(6) Stabilizer

Coupling with rubber bushings 

Coupling (A) for the left side of the vehicle

Arrow on coupling points in direction of travel

Fixed spacing disk (1) on coupling must be put on stabilizer
Coupling (B) for the right side of the vehicle

Arrow shows direction of travel.

Bonded rubber bushings can only be turned to a limited extent. The bolted connections on the suspension links should therefore only be tightened
when the vehicle is standing on the ground.
