Support trapezium link (e.g. using transmission lifter VAG 1383 A and plate VAG 1359/2).

Remove shock absorber bolt -2- and nuts - 1 -.

Remove shock absorber.
Pay special attention to the information when installing
Note: Replace bolts and self-locking nuts as described in the instructions in exploded view, Refer to Suspension, Diagrams, Exploded Views.
Proceed as follows to tighten bolted joint -2-:

Lift trapezium link until shock absorber has been compressed approximately 40-50mm.
Tightening torques

Item -1-: shock absorber to body: 25 Nm (18 ft. lbs.)
^
Item -2-: shock absorber to transverse link: 65 Nm (48 ft. lbs.)
