Fluid Pan: Service and Repair

Oil pan, removing and installing 

Removing

^

Place drain pan under transmission to catch fluid.

^

Remove drain plug and drain ATF.

Note:

ATF residue remains in the oil pan.

^

Remove oil pan bolts in alternating diagonal pattern.

^

Remove oil pan.

Notes: 

^

Clean all 4 magnets in the bead of the oil pan.

^

Make sure the entire surface of each magnet contacts the oil pan.

Installing 

The oil pan is installed in reverse order of removal. In addition, the following work steps have to be carried out.

Replace gaskets.

^

Tighten oil pan screws diagonally in several stages.

^

Change or top off ATF.

Tightening torques
