Secure all connections using clamps appropriate for the model type:

-

Always replace gaskets and sealing rings -D-.

-

Lightly cover sealing ring -D- with coolant.

-

Check coolant system for proper seal before installing glove compartment:

-

Check position of the grommet in the opening of the coolant lines to plenum chamber before installing the glove compartment and the plenum
chamber cover.

NOTE:

-

Coolant pump -V50- of pump-valve unit must only be operated after the coolant circuit has been vented.

-

Dry operation of the pump-valve unit leads to destruction.

-

Connect 2-pin harness connector to pump-valve unit only after venting the coolant circuit:

Version "2" heater core, installing

Before installing the heater core, check openings -A- of condensation water drain for soiling and clean if necessary.

NOTE:

-

Condensation water drain valve must not be obstructed by wax or underbody sealer and must close properly.

-

The drain openings in the illustration are depicted with the heater cores installed.

Cleaning:

-

Removed: Both drain openings can be checked and if necessary cleaned via the opening for the heater core, using an illuminated angled mirror.
