Backrest Adjustment Motor, Removing and Installing

Backrest Adjustment Motor, Removing And Installing

Removing

-

Remove seat.

-

Attach Fixture for seat repair VAS 6136 to Engine and transmission holder VAS 6095.

-

Attach front seat to Fixture for seat repair VAS 6136.

-

Remove side trim on outboard side.

-

Remove side trim on inboard side.

-

Remove front trim.

-

Remove bracket for seat side trim.

-

Remove upper backrest cover panel.

-

Remove lower backrest cover panel.

-

Loosen bolt of backrest adjustment motor

-

Remove lock washer - 5 - on backrest motor side (detail view - B -).

-

Use hammer and punch to drive shaft - 4 - through side of backrest frame.

-

Pull shaft - 4 - out of backrest frame - 1 - until backrest adjustment motor is removed.

Installing

-

Align splines of new backrest adjustment motor.

-

Slide shaft - 4 - through backrest adjustment motor and backrest frame - 1 -.

-

Place seat on its side

-

On opposite side of backrest adjustment motor, place wooden block - 2 - beneath shaft - 4 - (detail view - A -).

-

Use 11 mm socket attachment to drive lock washer - 5 - onto shaft - 4 - (detail view - C -)

-

Install bolt at backrest adjustment motor and connect connector.

-

Memory seat: After installing seat, perform basic setting of backrest and seat.
