  Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required

‹› Protective Cap For Cable Connector (VAS 6223/9) from Fiber Optic Plier Repair Set (VAS 6223)

Removing

  ‹› All cable ties opened or cut during engine removal must be reinstalled at the same locations during installation.

With ignition switched off, disconnect battery Ground (ND) wire. Refer to => [ Battery, Disconnecting and Connecting ] See: Starting and
Charging/Tools and Equipment/Battery, Disconnecting and Connecting.

Remove glove compartment.

-

Fold back floor carpet.

-

Remove bolts - arrows - and remove front information display control head control module (J523).

-

Disconnect electrical connectors - 1 - and - 3 -.

-

Disconnect harness connector - 2 - for fiber-optic cable.

-

Seal open wiring harness fiber optic connector - 2 - with (VAS 6223/9) - item 1 -.

  ‹› Protective cap prevents contamination of or mechanical damage to end face of fiber optic cable which would impair signal transmission.
