Wheel Alignment, General Information

Wheel alignment must only performed using VW/Audi approved wheel alignment equipment!

Each time wheels are aligned, both front and rear wheels must be aligned. 

Otherwise, proper vehicle driveability cannot be ensured.

‹› Wheels should not be aligned until the vehicle has been driven 1,000-2,000 km, since it takes this long for the suspension to settle.

‹› The individual specifications should be followed as exactly as possible when making adjustments.

Vehicles which pull to the side and accident vehicles! 

The cause for this could be that the steering rack in the steering gear is not exactly in the center when the steering is in the straight ahead position.

This already causes a slightly reduced hydraulic support toward the left or right. The result is a vehicle which pulls to the side.

If a vehicle is aligned due to a complaint "vehicle pulls to one side or pulls askew", center position of steering rack must always be checked.

Steering rack in the steering gear must be exactly in the center to set the toe/toe constant!

Wheel Alignment Must be Performed When

‹› Vehicle shows handling problems.

‹› Involved in an accident.

‹› Suspension components were removed.

‹› Tire wear patterns are uneven.
