Front Toe Curve, Adjusting

Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required

‹› Spacer (VAG 1925)

‹› Adapter (VAG 1925/1)

Explanation:

When the wheel compresses or rebounds, the wheel's toe changes as a function of the compression and rebound travel. The resulting toe measurements
are described as the toe curve.

The change in toe constant "S" is adjusted when the vehicle is raised by vertically shifting the toe head. Refer to => [ Front Toe Constant S, Adjusting

The wheel alignment computer determines the toe constant "S" using values measured in the initial and raised positions. The computer compares the
measured values with the specifications and displays them on the screen.

‹› An incorrectly adjusting toe constant causes the vehicle to turn when braking/accelerating or when driving over bumps.

‹› Due to differing measuring lifts, it may be necessary to raise the vehicle at the front suspension in order to be able to insert the (VAG 1925).

Insert the (VAG 1925) with the (VAG 1925/1) and loosen both threaded spindles until they just make contact on the front subframe bolts - 1 - of
the subframe.

The vehicle must not be raised by doing this!

The vehicle is now in the initial position.

With all Suspension Versions

In this position, check whether the present toe in value of each wheel matches the specification performed in this position by the alignment program on
the alignment computer. If necessary, correct the toe in using the tie rod length adjuster.

Specified values for wheel alignment. Refer to => [ Wheel Alignment Specifications ] See: Specifications.

The alignment program will display a message only if a correction is necessary.
