Remove the nut - 2 - and remove the eccentric washer and the eccentric bolt.

-

To remove the tie rod, raise the wheel bearing housing to the control position. Refer to => [ Wheel Bearing Housing, Raising to Control Position
to Tighten Bolts ] See: Suspension/Rear Knuckle/Service and Repair/Procedures.

Tilt the tie rod down.

-

Remove the tie rod from the connecting link/wheel bearing housing. 

Installing

Installation is performed in the reverse order of removal. Observe the following when doing so:

-

Tighten the bolts/nuts on components with bonded rubber bushings by hand. Raise the wheel bearing housing to tighten the bolts/nuts. Refer to =>

‹› Replace the tie rod if it was loosened or removed at the connecting link.

Insert a new tie rod in the connecting link/wheel bearing housing. 

-

Tilt the tie rod upward in the subframe.

-

Insert the eccentric bolt and the eccentric washer.

-

Rotate the eccentric washer on the marking on the subframe and tighten the nut - 2 -. Refer to - item 41 - in => [ Stabilizer Bar, Track Control Arm
, Tie Rod, Coupling Rod,

Suspension/Stabilizer Bar.

Tighten the nut - 1 -. Refer to - item 18  - in => [ Stabilizer Bar, Track Control Arm, Tie Rod, Coupling Rod,

Connecting Link, Trailing Arm and Level Control System Sensor Assembly Overview ] See: Suspension/Stabilizer Bar/Service and Repair/Rear
Suspension/Stabilizer Bar. Counter hold at the hex head.

Install the brake caliper.

-

Follow the instructions for further assembly. Refer to => [ Working after Adjusting Control

Place the vehicle on its wheels. Refer to => [ Positioning Vehicle on the Hoist and on its Wheels ] See: Suspension/Service and

Perform a vehicle alignment. Refer to => [ Wheel Alignment, General Information ] See: Alignment/Description and Operation/Wheel Alignment,
