Slowly depress accelerator pedal up to Wide Open Throttle (WOT) stop while observing the percentage display. The percentage display must
increase uniformly.

Check specified value of throttle valve position (absolute) at Wide Open Throttle (WOT) stop:

-

End diagnosis and switch ignition off.

If specifications are not obtained:

-

Disconnect corresponding 6-pin connector from throttle valve control module to be tested:

‹› Cylinder bank 1 with cylinders 1 through 6 is located at right in direction of travel.

‹›  Throttle Valve Control Module (J338) of cylinder bank 1 is located at left in direction of travel.

‹› Cylinder bank 2 with cylinders 7 through 12 is located at left in direction of travel.

‹›  Throttle Valve Control Module 2 (J544) of cylinder bank 2 is located at right in direction of travel.

Check Resistance

-

Check resistance of throttle valve drive in throttle valve control unit between terminals 3 + 5, specified value: 1.0 to 5.0 ohms

If specification is not obtained:

-

Replace corresponding throttle valve control module.
