Secondary Air Injection (AIR) Pump Motor -V101- is Noisy

Customer complaint about a loud Whining Noise from engine compartment during a cold start.

Whining Noise comes from Secondary Air Injection (AIR) Pump Motor -V101-.

Service

Check the following components of the Secondary Air Injection System for proper function (see Repair Manual for the vehicle you are working on).

All vacuum supply hoses for the secondary air Combi-Valves for sufficient vacuum.

-

Secondary Air Injection (AIR) Solenoid Valve -N112- (actuate Short Trip in MVB 077/078).

-

Secondary Air Injection (AIR) Pump Relay -J299- (make sure, Part No: 8D0 951 253 A is installed).

Install correct part as necessary.

Replace faulty components as necessary.
