Suspension Control Module: Service and Repair

Control module for level control system (Allroad) 

Removing

Remove driver's side luggage compartment side trim

^

Loosen connector at control module

^

Loosen Ground (GND) connection at chassis -arrow-

^

Remove control module in direction of travel.

Installing 

Vehicles from VIN: 

4B 1N 057 986 (rest of world)
4B 1N 056 142 (USA)

Slide control module on rib of bracket and clip in.

^

Connect connector at control module

^

Tighten Ground (GND) wire at body.
Tightening torque: 11 Nm

Install driver's side luggage compartment side trim.

Vehicles up to VIN: 

4B 1N 057 986 (rest of world)
4B 1N 056 142 (USA)

For vehicles before the above mentioned VIN it is possible, that no Ground (GND) wire was installed on the old control module. As replacement
parts, only current control modules with shielding and Ground (GND) cable are available.

If necessary, drill a hole -b- with 4 mm diameter as depicted in illustration using measurement -a- = 20.

^

Re-manufacture corrosion protection.

Slide control module on rib of bracket and clip in.
