Unbolt banjo bolt for pressure hose (19 mm wrench) from steering gear.

^

For vehicles with Servotronic, disconnect connector from Servotronic valve.

^

Unbolt mounting points -1-, -2-, and -3- from steering gear.

^

Remove steering gear through left wheel housing (second technician required).

Installing

Use VAG1907 to removed center steering gear.
^

Remove socket-head bolt -1- from steering gear.

^

Move rack until centering position on rack (arrow) aligns with thread -2-
