Dual-mass flywheel or drive plate, removing and installing

Special tools and equipment

Counterhold 10-201

Removing

-

Remove engine

-

Separate engine/transmission assembly. 

-

Place engine on workbench or a firm surface and secure in position with wooden blocks.

WARNING:  
^

Engine must be secured to avoid risk of accident

Do not set down engine on oil pan.

Mark drive plate and packing plate with respect to engine.

-

Insert counterhold 10-201 for loosening bolts. 

-

Unscrew drive plate.

Installing

Install in reverse order, note the following:
-

Install drive plate with packing plate.

-

Use new bolts for attachment.

-

Re-position counterhold 10-201 for tightening bolts.

-

Bolt transmission to engine and install engine/transmission assembly.
