Mirrors: Service and Repair

Loosen set screw (arrow) using 2 mm hex-wrench. 

Tightening torque: 2 Nm (18 in. lb)

Remove inside rear-view mirror upward off from mounting plate.

Read and observe all CAUTIONS! and WARNINGS! on adhesive compound labels.

NOTES:

-

Adhesive is workable at room temperature and is completely hardened after several hours.

-

If reinstalling used mounting plate, first sand off old adhesive from bonding surface on mounting plate.

Dimension -a- for rear-view mirror: 130 mm (approx. 1-1/8 in.).

Clean bonding surfaces on inside of windshield and on mounting plate.

-

Spray on activator and wipe dry.

-

Spray cleaned bonding surface on windshield again with activator and allow to dry for 1 to 2 minutes.

-

Apply drop of metal adhesive to center of cleaned bonding surface of mounting plate.

-

Press mounting plate to prepared bonding surface for 30 seconds.

-

Attach rear-view mirror and secure with set screw.

-

Remove excess activator.
