Rear brake pads, replacing

NOTE:

If the brake pads are to be re-used, mark them while removing and re-install each one in the same position, otherwise braking will not be
uniform.

Remove wheels.

Remove brake caliper housing from pad carrier (arrows). Counter-hold at guide pin.
Remove brake pads.

WARNING: Brake fluid is poisonous and must never be extracted by mouth through a hose.

CAUTION: Extract some brake fluid from the fluid reservoir before pushing back the pistons.

Use the bleeder bottle or a plastic bottle, which is used only for brake fluid, for extracting the fluid.
If this is not done, particularly if the brake fluid has been topped up recently, the excess brake fluid may overflow and cause
damage.

Thread piston in as far as possible by turning threaded spindle to clockwise and the knurled wheel counterclockwise.

NOTE:

If the piston is hard to move, a 13 mm open-end wrench can be used on the flats provided (arrow -A-).
Install special tool 3272, or equivalent, so the collar is in front of the piston.

Install brake pads.
Install brake caliper housing.
Counter-hold at guide pin and tighten bolts to 35 Nm (26 ft lb).
Check brake fluid and top off if necessary.
