ABS Control Module: Service and Repair

Location: under rear seat, left side

NOTE:

Before removing the ABS control module, check Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) memory using the VAG 1551 or equivalent scan tool.  Refer to
On Board Diagnostic in System Diagnosis.  See: Antilock Brakes / Traction Control Systems/Testing and Inspection

Removal

1. Switch ignition off.
2. Remove tie-wrap (arrow -b-).

Always replace tie wraps after installing the control module.

3. Depress spring (arrow -a-) to disconnect harness connector from ABS control module.
4. Remove both mounting screws (top arrows).

Installation

Reverse procedure to install.
