Power Steering Bleeding: Service and Repair
CAUTION:

After service work, and wherever hydraulic oil is missing from the reservoir, the steering system must be checked for leaks, refer to Testing and
Inspection. See: Testing and Inspection

Do not re-use hydraulic oil that has been drained from the system.

After installing steering system components, or replacing the hydraulic oil, make sure that the reservoir is not completely emptied by the pump
when the engine is started.
NOTE: After a short time with the engine running, the power steering system bleeds itself.

Fill reservoir with hydraulic oil to "MAX" mark on dipstick.

With front wheels pointing straight ahead, start engine and run at idle for approx. 2 minutes.

Watch oil in reservoir.

When there are no more bubbles:

Stop engine.

If necessary, immediately top off with hydraulic oil according to marks on reservoir and/or dipstick.
