Valve Body: Service and Repair
Valve Body
CAUTION: Do not run the engine or tow the vehicle with the ATF pan removed, or when there is no ATF in the transmission.
NOTE:

The valve body can also be removed while the transmission is installed in the vehicle.

After installing the ATF pan, fill the transmission with ATF and check the ATF level.

Always replace a valve body that is contaminated or damaged.
1. ATF pan

Removing: first disconnect ATF filler pipe
2. Bolt
-
Tighten to: 12 Nm (108 inch lbs.)
3. Gasket
-
Always replace
-
Press spacers into caskets
4. Spacer
-
Press into gasket
5. ATF strainer
-
Press in seal before installing
-
Place ATF strainer about 3 mm into valve body (not to stop); when assembling ATF pan, strainer will be pressed to correct depth
6. Seal
-
Press into ATF strainer
7. Bolt (6 mm)
-
Qty: 13
-
Tighten to: 5 Nm (44 inch lbs.)
8. Valve body
-
Identification, refer to Fig. 1, below
-
Transmission fluid temperature sensor is integral with conductor strip; removing and installing, refer to Fig. 2, below

Install with conductor strip Fig. 3, below
-
Operating rod for manual valve, adjusting, refer to Fig. 4, below
9. Bolt
-
Tighten to: 10 Nm (84 inch lbs)
10. Wiring harness connector

Install O-ring
11. O-ring
