Electronic Display and Trip Computer

ELECTRONIC INSTRUMENT CLUSTER

Since January 1986 a fully electronic instrument cluster with an integrated trip computer has been installed in the Audi Coupe GT.

This Product Circular contains a troubleshooting guide and all necessary repair instructions.

The instrument cluster is composed of an electronic display and trip computer.

Electronic display

The electronic display shows the following:

engine RPM

^

speed (MPH or KPH)

^

time

^

engine coolant temperature

^

fuel tank content

The number of displays on the instrument cluster can be changed by pushing the button on the end of the instrument panel light dimmer.

Note

If a warning condition occurs while the instrument cluster is in the minimum display mode, the display will automatically switch back to maximum
display.
