replace defective coolant temp. display unit sender
If specified values are still not displayed
-
replace instrument cluster
Flashing overheat temperature display sender, checking
Note
Temperature sender for flasher is integrated with coolant temperature display sender located in coolant system.
Work sequence
-
reconnect 35-point connector to instrument cluster
-
switch ignition ON
-
remove blue/yellow wire from temperature sender and attach to ground with jumper wire

display must show flashing overheat symbol
If display does not flash, - repair break in wiring according to wiring diagram OR
-
replace defective temperature sender
If display still does not flash, - replace instrument cluster
CIS-E signal, checking
CIS-E SIGNAL, CHECKING

connect US 1119 between contact 23 and ground
-
start engine and run until operating temperature is reached
-
measure voltage
^
2.3 V-2.5 V
If specified voltages are not obtained, - repair break in wiring according to wiring diagram OR
-
replace defective CIS-E control unit
