Seat Heating Element

Seat Heating Element

Removing

-

Disconnect cover from upholstery. Refer to => [ Seat Pan Cover and Upholstery ] See: Service and Repair/Overhaul/Seats - Upholstery,
Covers/Front Seat/Front Seat Cover and Cushion, Memory, Electrical Seat Adjustment.

Cut the electrical wire - 2 - off directly at the old backrest heating element - 3 -.

-

Disconnect the wires for the seat and seat bolster heating -  upper arrow -.

-

Carefully loosen the heating elements - A - and -  B -, which are glued only along the edge and remove them.

‹› The spacer fabric must not be damaged.

‹› The old heating surfaces - C and D - remain on the cushion -  1 - and will be covered over by the new heating element.

Installation

-

Align new heating element on backrest cushion.

CAUTION!
‹› Make sure the new heating element is affixed to the old heating element. 

‹› Remove the protective foil off the heating element in the affixing sequence.

‹› When removing the protective film, make sure the heating element is not damaged and that it is attached without wrinkles.

Bond the individual areas of the heating element in the sequence -  A, B, C and D -.

-

Route the connecting wires to the individual heating surfaces in the base of the gaps - arrows -.

-

Pull the wire - 2 - through the slit in the upholstery -  1 -.
