Accelerator Pedal Position Sensor: Testing and Inspection

Kick Down Function, Adapting after Replacing Gas Pedal Module or Engine Control Module

‹› If the throttle position sensor or engine control module is replaced in vehicles with automatic transmission, the kick down function must be

adapted. 

Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required

‹› Vehicle diagnosis, testing and information system (VAS 5051B) with diagnostic cable (VAS 5051/5A )

Work procedure

‹› Vehicle diagnosis, testing and information system (VAS 5051B) connected to Data Link Connector (DLC) - arrow  -.

‹› Engine not running, ignition switched on.

‹› No faults in DTC memory.
