Wheel Bearing: Removal and Replacement

‹› Ball joint puller (T10187)
Removing

Remove drive axle. Refer to => [ Drive Axle ] See: Transmission and Drivetrain/Drive Axles, Bearings and Joints/Axle Shaft Assembly/Service
and Repair/Removal and Replacement/Front Suspension/Drive Axle.

Loosen nut on lower control arm and press off ball stud using (T10187).

Remove nut.

Remove wheel bearing housing.
Installing
Installation is the reverse of removal, with special attention to the following:

Install drive axle. Refer to => [ Drive Axle ] See: Transmission and Drivetrain/Drive Axles, Bearings and Joints/Axle Shaft Assembly/Service and
Repair/Removal and Replacement/Front Suspension/Drive Axle.

‹› Bonded rubber bushings can only be turned to a limited extent. Only tighten suspension bolts when vehicle is in curb weight or control position.
‹› Wheel bearing, lifting to curb weight position on vehicles with coil springs. Refer to => [ Wheel Bearing, with Coil Spring, Lifting to Curb Weight
