Now remove setting gauge (T10173) from selector shaft.

-

Attach electrical connector to Multi-Function Transmission Range (TR) Switch (F125).

-

Switch ignition on.

The following two conditions must be fulfilled:

‹› The "N" from the "PRNDS" display in the instrument cluster Transmission Range (TR) Display (Y6) must be lit up.

‹› The "N" symbol in the Selector Lever Transmission Range (TR) Position Display (Y26) must light up.

‹› The following steps must be performed exactly so that the selector lever cable and/or selector mechanism does not get bent or damaged.

Install cover - 2 - on the selector shaft. 

CAUTION!
Hold the cover - 2 - secure with pliers so that the selector shaft cannot rotate when tightening the nut - 1 -.

Tighten nut - 1 -.

Vehicles with 8-cylinder, 4.2L FSI engine:

-

Install heat shield over Multi-Function Transmission Range (TR) Switch (F125).

Vehicles with 6-cylinder, 3.0L TDI engine:

-

Install ATF lines. Refer to => [ ATF Lines and ATF Cooler ] See: Automatic Transmission/Transaxle/Transmission Cooler/Service and
