Front Lid Gas-Filled Strut

Removing

Proceed as follows:

CAUTION!
There is a risk of an accident.

‹› Support the lid or secure it against falling down before removing a gas-filled strut.

Disengage the front lid gas-filled strut by raising the retaining spring - 2 - with a small screwdriver - 1 - -  arrow - and removing the strut - 3 -
from the ball stud.

Installing

Installation is reverse of removal, but note the following:

‹› The gas-filled strut is installed on the lid side.

Press the gas-filled strut onto the ball stud until it engages audibly.

Clamp gas-filled strut in a vise in area - x - = 50 mm (2 in.).
