AFFECTED VEHICLES
CONDITION
The front luggage compartment does not latch closed either intermittently or consistently.
TECHNICAL BACKGROUND
^ The emergency release Bowden cable is connected to a pin that is moved by the electric hood release actuator. The Bowden cable for the outer hood
latches are also connected to this pin. When the actuator is engaged to open the hood, the metal catch on the end of the emergency release cable can
become jammed between a metal bracket and the slider pin (Figure 1 and 2).
^ When the catch is jammed, the additional Bowden cable for the hood latches is put in a constant state of tension not allowing the hood to latch closed.
