Cowl Panel Trim

Removing

Proceed as follows:

-

Remove the bumper cover trim => [ Bumper Cover Trim ] .

-

Remove the left and right headlamp and wheel housing liner trim => [ Headlamp and Wheel Housing Liner Trim ] See: Fender/Front Fender/Front
Fender Liner/Service and Repair/Headlamp and Wheel Housing Liner Trim.

-

Remove wiper arms 

-

Loosen the quick-release bolts - 1 -.

CAUTION!
There is a risk of damaging the cowl panel trim.

‹› Coat the transition between the windshield and cowl panel trim with soapy water and remove the cowl panel trim - 4 - upward

vertically -  A arrows - out of the retaining strip beginning at the edge of the windshield.

Remove the cowl panel trim - 4 - by pulling it carefully upward out of the retaining strip - A arrows -.

-

Disengage the bottom of the front lid gas-filled struts -  2 - and - 3 -.

-

To do that, raise the retaining spring - 2 - with a small screwdriver - 1 - - arrow - and remove the gas-filled strut - 3 - from the ball stud.
