Remove the A/C unit bolts - 1 - and - 2 - on the central tube.

-

Remove the central tube bolts - 6 - on the tunnel wall.

-

Remove the instrument panel bracket bolts - 3 - on the central tube.

-

Remove the central tube nut - 4 - and the instrument panel bracket - 5 -.

-

Remove the steering column from the mounting bracket.

-

Lay steering column in the footwell on a suitable surface.

CAUTION!
Mark the height and side position on the central tube for reinstallation. 

-

Remove the A/C unit bolts - 4 - and - 5 - on the central tube.

-

Remove the bolts - 6 - on the central tube support. 

-

Remove the instrument panel bracket bolts - 3 - on the central tube.

-

Remove the nuts - 2 - and the instrument panel bracket -  1 -.

-

Loosen the body-side wiring harness fasteners on the central tube. 

-

Disconnect the electrical connector on the Data Bus On Board Diagnostic Interface (J533).

-

Remove the vent positioner to the center instrument panel vent. 

-

Unclip the wiring harness clip from the vent positioner.

‹› 2 technicians are needed to remove instrument panel central pipe.

-

Tip the top side of the central tube back.

-

Remove central tube from vehicle interior.
