Parking Brake Pad: Service and Repair

Parking Brake Pads

‹› Applies to steel and ceramic brakes.

Removing

-

Raise vehicle.

-

Remove wheels.

-

Disengage the parking brake cable on the brake caliper. Refer to => [ Parking Brake Cable, Removing from Brake Caliper and Installing ] See:
Parking Brake Cable/Service and Repair/Parking Brake Cable, Removing From Brake Caliper and Installing.

Press the retaining spring - 4 - down while removing the guide pins - 5 - from the brake caliper.

CAUTION!
Spring is tensioned and can cause injury when guide pins are removed.

Remove the retaining spring - 4 -.

‹› To prevent the brake pads from falling through the parking brake caliper, hold them in the caliper when the second guide pin is removed from the

caliper.

Remove the second guide pin - 3 - from the brake caliper while holding the brake pads in place.
