Camshafts

Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required

‹› Impact Puller (T10133/3) from the tool set (T10133)

‹› Locating Pins (T40116)

‹› Hand drill with plastic brush attachment

‹› Protective eyewear

‹› Sealant

Removing

‹› Engine/transmission subassembly removed and placed on the scissor lift table (VAS 6131 A), refer to => [ Engine/Transmission Subassembly,

‹› Here, removal and installation at left cylinder head is depicted in the following description.

‹› During installation, re-install all heat insulation sleeves at the same locations.

Remove the left exhaust manifold with catalytic converter => [ Left Exhaust Manifold with Catalytic Converter ] See: Exhaust System/Exhaust
Manifold/Service and Repair/Left Exhaust Manifold With Catalytic Converter.

Remove the bolts - arrows - and the heat shield -  1 -.

Remove the heat shield boot and disconnect the connector -  2 - on the camshaft position sensor 4 (G301).
