Intake Manifold, Lower Section, with Fuel Rail

Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required

‹› Hand Vacuum Pump (VAS 6213)

Removing

‹› The following procedure describes removal and installation on the left intake manifold lower section.

Install the protective body covers. Refer to => [ Protective Body Covers, Installing ] See: Powertrain Management/Fuel Delivery and Air
Induction/Service and Repair/Procedures.

CAUTION!
There is a risk of injury because the fuel is under very high pressure. 

‹› Before opening high pressure area of the fuel injection system, fuel pressure must be relieved to residual pressure.

Reduce fuel pressure in high pressure area. Refer to => [ Before Opening High Pressure Fuel Injection System ] See: Powertrain
Management/Fuel Delivery and Air Induction/Service Precautions/Vehicle Damage Warnings/Engine.

Remove the upper section of the intake manifold. Refer to => [ Intake Manifold, Upper Section ] See: Intake Manifold, Upper Section.

Disconnect electrical connectors - 1 - and -  2 -.

-

Remove the bolts - arrows - and move the bracket and the EVAP system purge regulator valve 2 (N333) and secondary air injection solenoid
valve (N112) to the side.

Remove the bolt - 1 - and union nut - 4 - and move the fuel supply line to the side.
