Knock Sensor: Service and Repair

Knock Sensors

Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required

‹› Release Tool f/ Rev. Light Switch Conn. (T40138)

Removing

-

Install the protective body covers. Refer to => [ Protective Body Covers, Installing ] See: Fuel Delivery and Air Induction/Service and
Repair/Procedures.

Remove the affected intake manifold lower section. Refer to => [ Intake Manifold, Lower Section, with Fuel Rail ] See: Engine, Cooling and
Exhaust/Engine/Intake Manifold/Service and Repair/Intake Manifold, Lower Section, With Fuel Rail.

Disconnect the affected connector:

-

Disconnect the connector using the (T40138).

1. Knock sensor 4 (G199)

2. Knock sensor 3 (G198)

3. Knock sensor 1 (G61)

4. Knock sensor 2 (G66)

Knock sensor 1 (G61) connector (orange)

Knock sensor 2 (G66) connector (green)

7

Knock sensor 4 (G199) connector (gray)

8

Knock sensor 3 (G198) connector (brown)

Remove the knock sensor.
