Three-Point Seat Belt with Belt Tensioner

Removal

CAUTION!
‹› Follow the safety precautions for pyrotechnic components.

‹› Follow the disposal regulations for pyrotechnic components. Refer to => [ Airbag, Belt Tensioner and Battery Cut-Out Units, Storage,

Transporting and Disposal ] See: Air Bag Systems/Service and Repair/Procedures.

Disconnect the battery ground cable with the ignition switched on.

Remove the belt anchor.

Remove side trim. Refer to => [ Side Trim ] See: Body and Frame/Interior Moulding / Trim/Service and Repair/Removal and
Replacement/Interior Trim.

Thread the belt webbing - 6 - with the locking tongue out of the belt relay - 5 -.

CAUTION!
Before handling pyrotechnical components (for example, disconnecting the connector), the person handling them must "discharge static
electricity ". For example, by briefly touching the door striker pin.

Release the connector lock - 4 - using a small screwdriver -  arrow -.

Disconnect the electrical connector - 3 - on the belt tensioner.

‹› If necessary, unclip the wiring harness and lay it aside.

Remove screw - 1 - and belt tensioner - 2  - from the mount.

Installation

Installation is reverse of removal, but note the following:

‹› Follow the safety precautions for pyrotechnic components.

‹› Before handling pyrotechnical components (for example, connecting electrical connector), the person handling them must "discharge

static electricity ". For example, by briefly touching the door striker pin.

‹› Ensure that electrical connections are pushed in as far as stop and engage with a click.
