Brake Light Switch: Service and Repair

Brake Pedal Switch

‹› To ensure secure installation and alignment, the switch may only be installed once.

Removing

-

Remove the driver side storage compartment. 

-

Disconnect the electrical connector.

-

Remove the Brake Pedal Switch (F47) by turning 45° to the left.

Installing

Note the following when installing:

‹› The brake push rod must be engaged with the brake pedal.

‹› When installing switch, brake pedal must not be operated.

‹› When installing the brake pedal switch, the plunger adjusts itself automatically.

‹› The brake pedal switch does not need further calibration.

Remove the brake pedal switch completely from the plunger -  arrow -.

-

Insert the switch with retaining tabs - 1 and 2 - in the openings provided on the brake pedal.

Engage the brake pedal switch by turning 45° to the right -  arrow -.
