Passive Occupant Detection System

CAUTION!
‹› Follow the safety precautions for pyrotechnic components.

‹› Follow the additional safety precautions for working on the passenger airbag deactivation seat occupied recognition system. Refer to

‹› Follow the procedure for the passenger airbag deactivation seat occupied recognition system after an accident.

‹› The replacement part (service kit) for the seat occupied recognition system is already pre-calibrated and must not be separated under

any circumstances. 

CAUTION!
Follow the safety precautions for pyrotechnic components.

CAUTION!
The passenger occupant detection system service kit is precalibrated and must not be disconnected. For information on the contents of the
service kit.

‹› The seat occupied recognition system is only installed on the passenger seat.

Removal

Disconnect the battery ground cable with the ignition switched on.

Remove passenger seat:

‹› Manual seats, refer to => [ Seat ] See: Body and Frame/Seats/Service and Repair/Removal and Replacement/Manual Seats.

‹› Power seat, refer to => [ Seat ] See: Body and Frame/Seats/Service and Repair/Removal and Replacement/Power Seats.

Attach front seat to (VAS 6136), refer to => [ Installing Seat On VAS 6136 ] See: Body and Frame/Seats/Service and Repair/Removal and
Replacement/Installing Seat on VAS 6136.

Remove backrest:

‹› Power seat, refer to => [ Backrest ] See: Body and Frame/Seats/Service and Repair/Removal and Replacement/Power Seats.

Disconnect the connector - 6 -.
