Alternator: Service and Repair

Observe notes on contact corrosion. Refer to => [ Contact Corrosion ] See: Battery/Service Precautions/Vehicle Damage Warnings.

Removing

-

With ignition switched off, disconnect battery ground wire. Refer to => [ Battery, Disconnecting and Connecting ] See: Tools and
Equipment/Battery, Disconnecting and Connecting.

-

Remove the ribbed belt from the generator belt pulley. 

-

Drain the coolant. 

-

Disconnect electrical connector - 5 -.

-

Removed the cap - 1 - and the nut.

-

Disconnect the B+ wire.

-

Remove the bolt - 4 - and remove the bracket -  3 -.

-

Disconnect the coolant lines - 2 - from the generator.
