Mark the brackets - arrows - with a felt-tip marker for example and unscrew from the upper spring plate.

Pull the piston rod on the upper shock absorber bearing upward. 

‹› The shock absorber piston rod must be free of grease and dirt for the next work step.

Attach (T40177) - 1 - approximately 20 mm below the upper shock absorber bushing on the shock absorber piston rod as shown in the figure.
