Oil Level in R Tronic Hydraulic Unit, Checking

Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required

‹› Vehicle Diagnosis and Service System (VAS 5052)

Procedure

Body Protectors, Installing. Refer to => [ Body Protectors, Installing ] See: Service and Repair/Removal and Replacement/Body Protectors,
Installing.

Test Conditions

‹› The vehicle must be absolutely level.

‹› The engine is switched off.

‹› The Vehicle Diagnosis and Service System (VAS 5052) is connected.

‹› The ignition is switched on.

‹› The parking brake is engaged.

Select the "Read measured value block" function on the Vehicle Diagnosis and Service System (VAS 5052) under "Guided Functions" in the "02 -
Transmission electronics" directory.

Switch between the "1st gear" and "reverse gear " with the selector lever until the Transmission Hydraulic Pump (V387) starts running.

‹› The measured value on the Vehicle Diagnosis and Service System (VAS 5052) for the "Hydraulic pump activation relay " must change from "0" to

"1".

‹› The Transmission Hydraulic Pump (V387) switches off at a system pressure of 50 bar.

If the measured value on the Vehicle Diagnosis and Service System (VAS 5052) for the "Hydraulic pressure via G270" has reached the value of "50
bar":

Inspect the inspection surface - arrow - on the reservoir -  A - visually.
